Fears and Phobias
“When you explore your fears then you set yourself free.”
Help with fears and phobias
Many people have a fear, fewer people have a phobia. Hypnotherapy or BWRT® can help you overcome your fears and phobias often giving you complete freedom from what was a lifelong problem. When we are born we have two fears only, fear of the dark, and fear of falling. Everything else is learned by response and experience whether true or false.
Hypnotherapy or BWRT® can bring rapid results for sufferers of fears and phobias.
What is the difference between fears and phobias?
Fear is a rational response. If you were in a forest and an elephant charges towards you there is no need even to think about it, your ancestral learning takes over and the fight or flight action occurs. It is a natural action for self-preservation of the species.
Phobias however are a severe irrational or intense reaction to an object or a certain situation usually brought about by an incident in your formative years. Take a phobia of spiders as an example, in many cases it originates from your childhood when an adult or older child reacted badly to seeing a spider in your presence. Your young mind may not have encountered a spider before and the sub-concious stores all the data associated with the event as a threat. The result is a fear or phobia of spiders which is re-enforced from that day onwards, usually without any conscious understanding. A phobia sufferer may realise that the feelings they have are unreasonable but they cannot control it or change it. For many phobia suffers the intensity and anxiety prevents normal living.

Fears and phobias respond well to BWRT & Hypnotherapy
For some conditions hypnotherapy can only be used if you have written permission from your GP or consultant, including any condition where you are are under supervision of a psychiatrist or mental health professional. This is to ensure that any medical treatment you may be undergoing will not conflict with hypnotherapy or vice versa. If you have any questions about this please contact us directly for more information before booking a session. Please see our information page for further details including our therapy disclaimer.
